I have a client running a website with asp and msaccess and they are getting some script timeouts from time to time.
I need to get their hosting upgraded plus make as many programming and sql changes as possible to get the site to keep growing as there are many changes they want to do and this will make the traffic go up plus add a reasonable amount of users uploading images.
Upgrading the site to asp.net or sql server is a possibility but probably not this year.
Is is possible to run a high volume website using msaccess and is getting a vps or dedicated box worth the extra dollars as they are currently on a shared server.
We received a letter from the StGeorge Bank (our merchant acct provider) stating that we need to be fully PCI DSS compliant by the end of February or so or they might close our merchant account (?!?)
I’m happy to get our web site compliant or at least start working on it but what is it with this sudden rush to make merchants compliant ?? If they are serious about this they’d give their merchants a bit more time than a few weeks otherwise merchants might just lie about being compliant. Only those that process > $1m pa in CC transactions will require 3rd party annual evaluations but at a guess 95-98% of all web hosting businesses in AU process less than that anually.
Anyway, anyone here that uses WHMCS/Eway that has gone through this yet? How long did it take you and what were the costs etc? Cheers

As part of my backup script I have a line to delete full backups that are older than 3 days… Unfortunately this line does not seem to work consistently… Any ideas?
find /backup/complete/complete-* -ctime +3 -print | xargs rm -rfv
